Job Overview
Staff Pharmacist role at Kroger in Palmer, AK. Deliver outstanding customer service, manage prescriptions, maintain safe pharmacy environment, meet sales & profit goals.
Responsibilities- Fulfill customers’ prescription needs with accurate dispensing.
- Administer vaccines as needed.
- Provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal laws (including HIPAA).
- Maintain professional image and pharmacy standards.
- Achieve thorough knowledge of trade area and competition.
- Build positive pharmacy image through strong service and friendliness.
- Monitor stock, inventory, policies, record‑keeping, security, sanitation, scheduling, equipment, pricing, planograms, returns, budgets, reports and product recalls per company policy.
- Maintain controlled substance records and security on scheduled drugs.
- Follow pharmacy product handling procedures from authorized sources.
- Utilize accuracy tools, including scanner and 24‑hour post‑dispensing audit.
- Establish and maintain legal, company, accounting and requested record‑keeping practices.
- Maintain clean, organized work area and customer counter.
- Handle product returns per company policy.
- Maintain equipment (computers, printers, scanners, cash registers).
- Organize policy manuals, reference books, state laws and required equipment.
- Maintain proper signage (store hours, counseling sign, services signs, pharmacist photos).
- Continuously broaden personal knowledge and pharmacy skills.
- Work cooperatively in high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
- Current state pharmacist licensure in good standing.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, subtraction).
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
