Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, the Commercial Sales Representative is responsible to cultivate new customer partnerships for Superior Plus Propane. Working within a defined Territory and/or Line-of-Business, the Commercial Sales Representative will actively market and sell Superior Plus Propane solutions to new customers, delivering on predetermined sales goals and performance expectations.

What you'll do:
- Collaborate with the Commercial Sales Manager to develop, recommend and execute a sales plan that leverages national and regional programs and resources to consistently meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Prospect, research and identify new business opportunities and work the sales plan to create awareness, discover customer needs and deliver product and service solutions.
- Initiate and lead the sales cycle/process as a subject matter expert and act as the customer’s key contact and resource. Build strong business relationships with prospective customers and manage the sales funnel/cycle by continually following up on their current business needs and anticipating future business needs.
- Prepare and confidently present sales proposals, including pricing and product/service terms, to key decision makers. Influence, negotiate and close the sale with the best interest of the company and the customer in mind.
- Collaborate with and engage the Regional Leadership Team to ensure the needs of the customer can be and will be met.
- Communicate regularly and prepare reports on key performance indicators and communication on sales progress within the sales funnel/cycle and achievements. Intimately know customer base and area activity and utilize information and data to capitalize on sales opportunities and recommend sales strategies.
- Resolve any issues as they arise and involve subject matter experts and key decision makers as needed to remove obstacles.
- Own the account from prospecting through to ongoing account management.
- Promote and represent Superior Plus Propane positively and professionally within the community and industry to all customers, competitors and industry associates.
What you bring:
- 3+ years of consultative sales experience in commercial sales environment within vertical industries (propane or oil, construction, manufacturing, service-related industries).
- Strong focus on new business development
- Exceptional customer service skills and relationship management skills
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Business acumen, financial and analytical skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Superior organization and time management skills
- Knowledge of the propane industry and/or oil & gas industry an asset
- Valid Driver’s License and access to vehicle with ability to travel regularly within Western MA and Northern CT
- Ability to travel for 2-3 nights per month
