We are seeking a hands-on Plant Controller to lead the financial operations of a high-volume manufacturing facility in Upstate New York. This individual will serve as a key business partner to plant leadership, providing financial insight, cost accounting expertise, and operational analysis to support profitability, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Serve as the finance leader for the manufacturing facility and a strategic partner to Plant Operations. Manage all plant accounting functions, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Lead cost accounting activities, including standard cost development, product costing, inventory valuation, and cost rollups. Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, overhead, material usage, scrap, yield, and production efficiencies.

Partner with operations leadership to identify opportunities for cost reduction, margin improvement, and operational efficiencies. Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans for the facility. Monitor plant performance against financial targets and provide actionable recommendations to improve results. Ensure accuracy of inventory transactions, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory controls. Support capital expenditure planning, financial modeling, and ROI analysis for plant investments.

Prepare and present monthly financial reviews to plant and corporate leadership. Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards. Support audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed. Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, quality, and operations teams to improve plant financial performance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment.

Strong cost accounting experience is required. Experience supporting a manufacturing plant as a Plant Controller, Assistant Controller, Cost Accounting Manager, Senior Cost Accountant, or similar role. Demonstrated experience with: o Standard costing o Inventory accounting o Variance analysis o Budgeting and forecasting o Financial reporting o Month-end close o Cost reduction initiatives Advanced Excel skills required.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, Net Suite, Infor, or similar platforms. CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
