Sr. Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join a Financial Services firm in Palo Alto, California on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious about accounting processes, and takes ownership of their work while contributing as a collaborative team player.

Responsibilities Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and reporting.

Support investment accounting, capitalization schedules, valuations, and portfolio company reporting.

Review financial statements and schedules prepared by outside service providers; identify discrepancies and drive issues through resolution.

Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables.

Prepare management reports, financial analyses, cash forecasts, and quarterly portfolio review materials.

Support audits, tax requests, and ad hoc accounting and financial analysis.

Maintain accurate records and processes using Quick Books, , and Expensify.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency.

Partner with the broader finance team while independently owning assigned responsibilities.

Hands-on experience with Quick Books, , and Expensify.

Proven ability to manage outside vendors and follow through on deliverables.

Financial services or investment management experience preferred.
