Job Description

Patriot Construction, Inc. is currently looking for a high-level PROJECT MANAGER with experience in design‑build federal contracting for Bay Area operations. Patriot Construction is a rapidly growing company among the top federal, government and military construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Define, control and manage project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Collaborate with clients, internal departments, and outside consultants through all project phases, negotiate cost‑effective subcontract and material purchases.
  • Set up and implement job procedures and techniques to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval and material delivery.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management of cost forecasting and construction progress.
  • Organize and facilitate regular meetings for management and subcontractors.
  • Manage multiple projects in various phases of the project life cycle.
  • Act as the single point of contact and account for all aspects of the project.
  • Maintain high client interaction and professionalism.
  • Keep projects on schedule.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with stakeholders, subcontractors, owners, architects, and superintendents.
  • Work with the superintendent to develop safety plans and implement safety procedures.
  • Manage, train, and supervise project team according to company policy and project needs.
  • Review contract conditions and ensure compliance with all contract terms.
  • Supervise documentation of significant project events and take immediate action to respond to problems such as accidents, delays, change orders, etc.
  • Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions.
  • Direct preconstruction services and activities.
  • Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontract bid packages.
  • Write, execute contracts, close out, and obtain permits.
  • Coordinate mobilization of trailers, utilities, and file set‑up.
Skills & Qualifications
  • DOD/Naval experience.
  • Medical facilities experience.
  • B.S. degree in engineering or construction management, or 10 years direct experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in construction industry with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor engaged in general building construction.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in government contracting.
  • Demonstrated experience estimating and managing self‑performed work activities and subcontract work.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and be a solid team player.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with renovation of commercial and institutional buildings and related site work.
  • Good working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical work.
  • High proficiency with spreadsheets, email and other construction industry software.
  • Current safety credentials: OSHA 30, 1st Aid, CPR.
  • Current CQM certification issued by USACE/NAVFAC.
