Overview

Opus 1 Music Studio is a top‑rated music school located in Silicon Valley with over 1,000 students and 40+ teachers. We offer private and group lessons for piano, violin, viola, cello, voice, ukulele, and guitar in both online and in‑person formats.

We are hiring a Cello Teacher. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality cello instruction while supporting administrative tasks such as scheduling and lesson planning. Teachers are not responsible for logistics beyond student/parent communication.

• Teach cello lessons on‑site or online based on scheduling.
• Prepare personalized lesson plans aligned with student goals.
• Support students’ performance and exam preparation.
• Use our school app/website to manage teaching schedules and maintain attendance records.

• Current legal status to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in music (preferred MM/MA or DM/PhD).
• Residence in the Bay Area with reliable transportation to Mountain View/Palo Alto.
• Experience teaching and performing on cello.
• Excellent communication skills with students and parents.
• Ability to design independent lesson plans and adapt to new teaching environments.
• Experience preparing students for performances and exams.
• Knowledge of ABRSM Practical and Theory Exams or willingness to learn.
• English proficiency.

• Flexible teaching windows:
  Sunday–Saturday, mornings, afternoons, evenings.
• Weekend lessons available 9 am–5 pm; weekday lessons 3 pm–9 pm.
• Ideal candidates are available 6 consecutive hours per day, minimum 3 days/week (full‑time 5 days/week).

• Full‑time staff handle all administrative support.
• High‑quality Yamaha Pianos and a professional teaching environment.
