Overview
What To Expect:
This role focuses on creating computational models to analyze the abuse tolerance of high-voltage components and systems within Tesla's diverse product line. The Analysis Engineer will leverage these models to assess potential hazards and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive the development of safer and more robust battery packs.
- Develop heat transfer, fluid flow, and combustion models to simulate system performance under abuse scenarios
- Design novel tests to study battery properties in abusive conditions and correlate findings with computational models
- Build and utilize first-principle analytical models to accelerate design decisions
- Establish standards to guide design directions for new programs
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety considerations into battery pack development
- Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 2 years of relevant work experience
- Strong foundation in thermal and mechanical engineering principles
- Demonstrated experience in thermal modeling for at least one relevant product line
- Familiarity with CFD tools such as Star-CCM+ or Ansys Fluent
- Proficiency in MATLAB and CAD software
- Experience with measurement equipment like DAQs and sensors
- Understanding of basic electrochemistry principles

Expected Compensation
$92,720 - $256,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include other elements depending on the position offered. Details will be provided if an offer of employment is made.
