Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company’s vision of a fully electric transportation future. You’ll have…
- Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field of study, with an expected graduation date between May 2026 and May 2027.
- Proficiency in C, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for embedded systems.
- A solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including software architecture, modular design, and long‑term maintainability.
- Experience with embedded microprocessor tools (e.g., IDEs, debuggers, programmers, or similar tool chains used for embedded development).
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers from different disciplines.
- Familiarity with MISRA C guidelines and their application to safety‑critical or high‑reliability embedded software.
- Experience with controls software and algorithm development, particularly for mechatronic or electromechanical systems.
- Exposure to real‑time embedded systems, including scheduling, interrupt handling, and low‑level hardware interaction.
- Experience working with sensing systems, actuators, or other mechatronic components in vehicles or robotics.
- Previous experience bringing up new hardware platforms, troubleshooting issues across hardware and software, and optimizing embedded code performance.
