Job Summary

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Social Work Clinician are professional social‑work levels within our Social Work Job Family. LCSWs are fully licensed in California and provide high‑level, independent social‑work services. Social Work Clinicians are recent graduates or professionals yet to obtain LCSW licensure. Both positions require a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school.

Essential Functions – Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Make mental‑health diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to MSWs and student interns.
  • Maintain electronic medical records per department policy; provide written and oral reports.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessment upon admission, annually, or as clinically indicated; identify and address barriers to care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to devise patient/family psychosocial treatment plans, coordinate referrals, and document progress.
  • Assist patients/families with coping, grief, crisis intervention, and therapeutic services.
  • Deliver psychoeducation regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis; support transition from youth to adult services.
  • Manage caseload of varying clinical acuity and engage in case finding.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and case conferences.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and community improvement; review and develop policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to devise and implement psychosocial treatment plans, coordinate referrals, and document progress.
  • Assist patients/families with coping, grief, crisis intervention, and therapeutic services.
  • Manage assigned caseload and conduct case finding; attend interdisciplinary rounds.
  • Provide psychoeducation about diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis; support transition to adult services.
  • Participate in quality assurance and community improvement; contribute to policy and guideline development.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
  • License/Certification: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Preferred

    Skills:

    Pediatric social‑work experience; healthcare experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Apply medical social‑work theories and practices in a hospital setting.
    • Gather and assess data on patient and family needs.
    • Manage caseloads; maintain confidentiality; respond to emergencies.
    • Provide written case narratives and reports.
    • Apply effective assessment, interviewing, and counseling techniques.
    • Leverage hospital and medical‑center resources to meet patient needs.
    • Understand hospital patient and family dynamics.

Additional Information

Positions are flexible within the Social Work Clinician to Advanced LCSW range and may be promoted upward when qualifications are met. Compensation is based on level and requirements, within the range of $52.32–$61.60 per hour for LCSW. Equity and pay alignment are maintained through internal and market data.
