As RV Tech’s foundational risk expert, you’ll drive how the company identifies, manages, and leverages risk to achieve its business goals. Located in our Palo Alto, California office, this position offers a standard hybrid schedule with the expectation of being in the office three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Risk Integration: Serve as the SME and strategic advisor to leadership, proactively embedding risk considerations directly into core business processes (e.g., project planning, finance, and decision‑making).
  • Proactive Risk Intelligence: Partner with technical and operational leaders to systematically identify, assess, and prioritize strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks in a dynamic, high‑technology environment.
  • Cross‑Cultural Synthesis: Navigate and unify the risk perspectives of two major organizations (Rivian and VW Group) to build a single, future‑proof risk strategy for RV Tech.
  • Champion Risk Culture: Build organizational capability by driving a risk‑aware culture through targeted coaching, training, and robust Key Risk Indicator reporting.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of progressive experience in Risk Management, with a focus on designing, implementing, and operationalizing comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management frameworks in dynamic, high‑technology environments (automotive, software, or tech sector preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across multiple domains: strategic, operational, financial, safety, and compliance (e.g., ISO, regulatory standards).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Organizational, project management, strategic and operational planning skills with a deadline‑centric and action‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work with all levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and responsiveness.
  • Ability to navigate and synthesize risk perspectives from two major global organizations (Rivian and Volkswagen Group) to create a unified, future‑proof risk strategy.
  • Creative and solution‑oriented – willingness to come up with new ways to enable the risk program to be more effective.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, business, economics, law). Advanced degree preferred.
