Senior Assembler – Electro-MechanicalJob Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Palo Alto. In this role, you will independently build and test complex optical, mechanical, and electro‑mechanical sub‑assemblies that support the production of our industry‑leading medical aesthetic systems. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on technical expertise, a keen eye for precision, and a collaborative spirit to drive quality, process improvements, and mentorship within the team.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the development and assembly of cutting‑edge laser technology in a dynamic, innovative environment.
- Work independently to build optical and mechanical precision sub‑assemblies.
- Train and mentor other assemblers on build and process techniques.
- Partner with Engineering to build prototype and pilot products and identify process improvements.
- Redline bills of materials and process methods to drive documentation updates.
- Perform analysis and repair on returned or rejected assemblies.
- Execute mechanical, electronic, opto‑mechanical, and/or electro‑mechanical assembly or system‑level operations using various hand tools, fixtures, and equipment.
- Follow product methods to perform standard tasks such as component installation, electrical wiring, soldering, cable harnessing, plumbing, gluing, cleaning, labeling, and packaging of sub‑assemblies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, protocols, and industry regulations.
- Use precision tools and equipment to ensure proper form, fit, and function of assemblies.
- Perform in‑process quality checks on components and assemblies.
- Collect and maintain (kit) materials for sub‑assemblies.
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing assembly role.
- Proven experience building complex electro‑mechanical and/or opto‑mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to identify process improvements, detect defects or deficiencies in materials and assemblies, and troubleshoot moderately complex issues.
- Capability to support and assist less experienced operators.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (up to 2 hours) and routinely bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Experience building lasers and/or optical assemblies.
- Experience performing rough optical alignment.
- Certification in soldering and/or wire crimping.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with medical products, optics cleaning and handling, and component mounting and gluing.
- Prior work experience in a medical device or related manufacturing environment.
- Experience using manual and power hand tools.
The salary range for this position is $24 – $27 per hour. In addition to a competitive market‑based salary, Sciton provides an opportunity to participate in equity/stock incentive programs, a profit‑sharing bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) with matching.
