Overview
Patient Care Manager (RN) - Endocrinology Multi Site at Stanford Health Care.
Location:
Palo Alto, CA.
Schedule:
1.0 FTE Full time Day shift. Onsite role for Endocrinology Multi Site.
- Clinical Practice:
Ensure the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing services of unit(s); assess patients; implement physician orders, treatment plans and medical procedures; administer medications; maintain records; monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes; coordinate nursing activities with other services or disciplines. Demonstrate clinical competency in the assigned specialty area and model nursing practice according to the organization’s mission, vision and values. - Communication:
Communicate clearly and effectively to enhance team performance, manage conflicts, engage employees and interdisciplinary colleagues, and support performance improvement. - Fiscal Accountability:
Plan and forecast the department budget, analyze financial performance, plan staffing and scheduling, and monitor productivity and resources. - Human Resources:
Manage personnel for the department, including interviewing, hiring, training, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions in accordance with policies and law. - Leadership:
Assume responsibility for operation of the unit, provide direction to staff, collaborate with leaders across the hospital, and serve as a resource for nursing practice and patient care. - Performance Improvement:
Use data to monitor operations, lead process improvement projects, and achieve patient and staff satisfaction targets. - Professional Development:
Facilitate staff development and unit competency maintenance; promote educational opportunities based on staff needs. - Quality Management:
Support a quality framework with clinical and service quality indicators; foster a safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable care environment. - Coordination and Compliance:
Ensure coordination with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements; support safety and risk management initiatives.
- Bachelors and/or Masters in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to contribute to health care policy formulation in partnership with a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to delegate and supervise activities according to ability, standards of practice, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to develop programs and lead process improvement projects.
- Ability to establish strategic direction and business plans for a functional group.
- Ability to initiate and implement change to improve quality and safety of patient care.
- Ability to provide leadership, influence others to meet patient needs, prioritize resources, and mentor staff.
- Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate staff results.
- Ability to use information and technology to support decision-making in patient care.
- Knowledge of nursing theory, standards, and current trends in health care and hospital administration.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and accrediting standards governing nursing care.
- Knowledge of organizational, administrative, fiscal and personnel management in health care.
- Ability to lead clinical management, coordination, and operational direction for assigned areas.
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure
Base Pay Scale:
Generally starting at $89.01 - $117.94 per hour. The final salary is determined based on factors including internal equity, experience, education, and training.
