Rotating – 12 Hour (United States of America) – Looking for a 0.9 FTE Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Clinical Nurse Specialist) on the inpatient neurosurgery service. The service covers 24 hours a day, seven days per week, including weekends and holidays. It is a collaborative model consisting of APPs and house staff providing care for patients with neurosurgery diagnoses in the ICU and on the floors.
Common diagnoses include CNS tumors, movement disorders, intracranial hemorrhages, and spine pathology.
This position offers the opportunity to be involved in every aspect of neurosurgical care, including initial diagnosis, treatment, pre‑operative and post‑operative care.
Responsibilities- Complete a comprehensive history and physical examination.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies.
- Prescribe appropriate treatments in collaboration with the attending physician.
- Consult with specialist physicians and team members regarding patient condition.
- Perform procedures per policy.
- Teach on rounds, weekly conferences, monthly staff meetings, and clinical care conferences.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited university.
- Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.
- State licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- DEA registration.
- Base pay scale generally starting at $89.01 – $117.94 per hour. Final salary will be determined based on experience, education, specialty and training.
