Wind Borne Systems is supercharging weather forecasting with a unique proprietary data source: the largest balloon constellation in the world. Our next-generation smart weather balloons target the most critical atmospheric data and can reach remote regions that are otherwise unobserved. We then combine this novel data source with Wind Borne Weather Mesh, the world’s most accurate AI weather model.
At Wind Borne, we are building a planetary nervous system. With our constellation, we will eliminate current gaps in our understanding of the planet and give people and businesses the information they need to make critical decisions for the greater good. Our founding team of Stanford engineers was named Forbes 2019 30 under 30 and is backed by top investors including Khosla Ventures and Footwork VC.
We’re adding multiple scrappy, deal-hungry Business Development Associates and Leads to expand our work with both the federal government and commercial partners. The right candidate will possess a combination of high agency, mega charged motivation, technical curiosity, and strategic tact. You will own green field sales in organizations and verticals Wind Borne is ready to break into and expand business development with existing customers.

Lead Generation: find Wind Borne’s next anchor customers, qualify them, and form engagement strategies
Customer Expansion: leverage our current contracts and relationships to grow Wind Borne’s existing footprint
Alliance Cultivation:
Continually grow and strengthen Wind Borne’s foundational customer relationshipsSales Lifecycle Execution:
Be the driving force behind every step of the sales cycleTechnical Expertise:
Become an expert on Wind Borne’s products, differentiators, and our place as an authority in the weather industry
Direct sales experience in a technical environment, with either hardware or software
Prior success in establishing contracts with greenfield clients
Superior written and verbal communication skills with incredible presentation creation and delivery acumen
Deal creativity–no two customers are the same, and this role requires recognition and accommodation of that truth
High interpersonal intuition. Know what to say and when. You will be tested on this.

Salary
$75,000 - $120,000 plus incentive pay
** We are considering a range of backgrounds and experience levels for this position and adjust our offers accordingly to be competitive with market rates.
Location858 San Antonio Rd, Palo Alto, CA. Due to the frequent travel required, this role is open to hybrid candidates.
