Position: OC2AC Operator

HVAC Mechanic (OC2-A/C Operator)
Location: VA Palo Alto Healthcare System – 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304
Pay Range: $45–$60 per hour (includes Health & Welfare: $5.36/hr up to 40 hrs/week – equivalent to $214.40/week or $929.07/month)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Position Type: Full-Time (2 FTE openings)

About the Role:
Allmed Staffing Inc. is seeking two (2) full-time HVAC Mechanics (OC2-A/C Operators) to support operations at the Department of Veterans Affairs facility in Palo Alto, CA. This is a government contract position within a healthcare setting, offering competitive pay and the opportunity to contribute to essential infrastructure that directly supports veterans' care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repair, maintenance, modification, and preventive service on HVAC systems, plants, and related equipment.

  • Install and ensure proper operation of critical climate control units, ensuring balanced air flow and temperature readouts.

  • Troubleshoot and overhaul a variety of refrigeration units including freezers, food carts, chillers, and solar-integrated systems.

  • Conduct system inspections including pressure, temperature, and run-time diagnostics.

  • Collaborate with other trades for installation of large-scale or roof-mounted units; perform independent work as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of journeyman-level experience in industrial/commercial HVAC systems.

  • Strong technical skills in diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and system overhauls.

  • Ability to work independently and read blueprints and technical manuals.

  • Must be able to lift and install heavy equipment, including ceiling and rooftop units.
