The Computer Use Agents team aims to develop LLM agents that can use computers the way (or better) humans use today. The team will build the base towards the goal of Macrohard – an autonomous AI software company.
About the RoleIn this role you will:
- Build the best in class Computer Use Agents focussing on automating repetitive processes, building and testing software, performing long‑horizon tasks (e.g. research, plan and execute on a complex task).
- Develop next generation evaluation suites beyond traditional benchmarks and create evaluation frameworks that capture real‑world utility, especially in enterprise use cases.
- Collaborate closely with product teams to gain deep insights into real‑world environments, develop innovative evaluation methodologies, and partner with research teams to hill‑climb on these evaluations for maximum impact.
- Collaborate with research teams to convert cutting‑edge techniques and computer control models into production‑ready implementations.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing sophisticated evaluation frameworks for optimizing computer and browser‑based agent performance.
- Experience with statistical analysis and experimental design.
- The role is based in Palo Alto. Our team usually works from the office 5 days a week but allows work‑from‑home days when required. Candidates are expected to be located near Palo Alto or open to relocation.
After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 15 minute interview (“phone interview”) during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of four technical interviews:
Present your past exceptional work and your vision with xAI to a small audience.
Our goal is to finish the main process within one week. All interviews will be conducted via Google Meet.
Annual Salary Range$180,000 - $440,000 USD
