Senior Software Engineer focusing on backend systems, data pipelines, and scalable infrastructure for genetic data analysis at 23andMe.
Responsibilities:- design, develop, and operate backend services and data stores transforming raw genetic data into customer-facing results;
- automate testing and deployment using CI/CD pipelines;
- collaborate with product, science, and engineering teams to ensure reliable and scalable systems;
- build AI-powered data pipelines for personalized insights;
- troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent;
- 4+ years industry experience;
- expertise in Python, data pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS), containerization (Docker), CI/CD deployment, and distributed systems.
- experience with observability, performance tuning at scale.
- bioinformatics, genetics, large-scale data infrastructure, AI integration, cloud-based deployment, hybrid work model, San Francisco Bay Area location.
