Senior Network Engineer Pampa, TX

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and optimizing our network infrastructure. You will work on complex projects involving high-performance technologies and platforms to ensure the best possible performance and reliability of our network services.

• Actively participate in engineering discussions on BGP routing policies, network performance improvements, and platform evaluations.
• Configure and maintain core and distribution routers, switches, backhauls, and outdoor wireless access points.
• Handle customer configuration change requests including router/bandwidth upgrades, site moves, and various updates (NAT, ACLs, QoS).
• Establish and maintain BGP peering sessions with major content providers like Netflix, Facebook, and Apple to enhance streaming quality.
• Implement BGP and OSPF across hundreds of sites and ensure seamless communication with core Cisco routers.
• Utilize network monitoring tools to detect and address network anomalies.
• Develop and support monitoring tools and processes to proactively maintain network health.
• Conduct firmware upgrades on APs, switches, and routers to address software bugs.
• Create and quality check procedures for maintenance activities including hardware/software upgrades and configurations.
• Optimize customer CPE and configure point-to-point connections for clients with multiple locations.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or foreign equivalent

5 years’ experience in network engineering design and implementation

Occasional travel up to 20% to Datacenters

Can work remotely within metropolitan statistical area.

Experience must include:

• Expertise in switching technologies including but not limited to Arista DCS, Juniper QFX series and Cisco Nexus platform.
• Proficient in routing technologies such as Arista DCS, Juniper MX series, and Cisco Catalyst series.
• Experience in network design, engineering, circuit provisioning, troubleshooting, and vendor management.
• Experience with Access Points like Ubiquiti Rocket Prism and Mimosa A5.
• Knowledge of backhaul configurations using SAIE Microelectronica, Mimosa, and Cambium products.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols including OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, and related technologies.
• Detailed knowledge of data center routing and switching systems with Ethernet mediums spanning 10/25/40/100 Gigabit Ethernet.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Kentik, Grafana, and Splunk.
