Senior Project Manager​/Principal - Natural Resources

Responsibilities

ECS Florida is seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Project Manager to lead our growing Natural Resources team in Panama City. The ideal candidate is a seasoned environmental professional with 10 to 20 years of experience in Florida ecosystems, wetland science, delineation, mitigation, and regulatory permitting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of scientists and project managers.

• Manage complex projects involving wetland delineations, environmental resource permitting (ERP), and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) permitting.

• Oversee coordination with the Water Management District, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

• Develop project budgets, schedules, and proposals while maintaining profitability and quality control.

• Build and maintain client relationships, leveraging local market knowledge and professional networks to grow the business.

• Support mitigation planning, UMAM functional assessments, and compliance monitoring.

• Provide technical oversight and quality control for reports, delineations, and permit applications.

• Dock, marina, seawall permitting experience a plus.

• FWC Gopher Tortoise Agent a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree in related field is strongly preferred.

• 10 to 20 years of professional experience in natural resources consulting, permitting, and fieldwork.

• Proven leadership in team management, business development, and client relations.

• Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with mitigation design, UMAM or WRAP, and arborist or vegetation assessment experience a plus.

• Established presence and client base in Northwest Florida preferred.
