Medical Lab Technician (MLT) – Healthcare
Base pay range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year.
Location:
Panama City Beach, FL.
Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to work with a leading healthcare client. This core laboratory role performs essential technical functions across chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology. Your responsibilities include reporting accurate test results according to clinic protocols, maintaining stringent quality control in specimen handling, and ensuring all laboratory equipment and supplies are properly maintained for continuous operation.
Job Responsibilities- Perform technical clinical laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology.
- Report accurate test results following clinic protocols, alerting providers and/or nurses immediately about abnormal or critical findings.
- Ensure stringent quality control in collection and sampling of specimens, maintaining accurate and thorough record keeping.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, including setting up, calibrating, cleaning, testing sterility, and performing preventive maintenance.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining adequate supply inventory within the laboratory department.
- Work under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor or Manager to ensure timely and efficient lab operations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate’s Degree or higher is preferred.
- Medical laboratory experience is preferred.
- The client is willing to train based on any years of experience, provided the candidate meets the license requirement.
- State of Florida Medical Laboratory Technician License (required). The candidate must possess or qualify for a generalist license.
- Certification as MLT, ASCP, CPT, or AMT (required).
- Proven technical proficiency in performing testing across chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology disciplines.
- Strong ability to follow protocols for reporting abnormal results and maintain accurate quality control records.
- Competency in maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting basic laboratory equipment.
