Job SummaryAlys Beach seeks an experienced Steward. This position’s primary function involves maintaining a positive working relationship with the service team, creating an efficient workflow that supports the service and culinary staff in their daily responsibilities, and maintaining a high level of sanitation throughout the restaurant.
$16.00 per hour
. First day medical benefits, company profit sharing, and a $1,000 sign‑on bonus for this position.
- Set up dish machine station and triple sink with appropriate chemicals.
- Communicate with kitchen staff on needs and placement of clean items.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment in the dish station.
- Handle plate, silver, and glassware with care to avoid damage and/or breakage.
- Maintain professional, composed and calm demeanor at all times.
- Complete all side work as directed by manager.
- Work as part of the culinary team.
- Perform other reasonable job duties requested by manager.
- Ability to communicate professionally with guests, owners, and other associates.
- Basic understanding of professional kitchen operations.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours.
- Ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for an extended period of time.
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Ability to move, carry, lift, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to smoke, steam, loud noises, wet conditions.
- Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor during periods of stress.
- Ability to work in heat and/or cold, often with extended exposure to the sun.
