Alys Beach seeks an experienced Steward. This position’s primary function involves maintaining a positive working relationship with the service team, creating an efficient workflow that supports the service and culinary staff in their daily responsibilities, and maintaining a high level of sanitation throughout the restaurant.

$16.00 per hour
. First day medical benefits, company profit sharing, and a $1,000 sign‑on bonus for this position.

• Set up dish machine station and triple sink with appropriate chemicals.
• Communicate with kitchen staff on needs and placement of clean items.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment in the dish station.
• Handle plate, silver, and glassware with care to avoid damage and/or breakage.
• Maintain professional, composed and calm demeanor at all times.
• Complete all side work as directed by manager.
• Work as part of the culinary team.
• Perform other reasonable job duties requested by manager.

• Ability to communicate professionally with guests, owners, and other associates.
• Basic understanding of professional kitchen operations.

• Ability to stand for 8 hours.
• Ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for an extended period of time.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, carry, lift, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to smoke, steam, loud noises, wet conditions.
• Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor during periods of stress.
• Ability to work in heat and/or cold, often with extended exposure to the sun.
