Part‑Time Sales Teammate at The Buckle, Inc.
SummaryThecepts of this role are to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our guests, while performing a variety of sales, merchandising, and excecute day‑to‑day operational tasks (cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures, facility cleaning, etc.).
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThis description outlines the general nature and level of work performed by the Sales Teammate. It is not intended to include all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications. The following details are essential to successful performance of the job.
Sales Generation and Guest Service- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and consistently provide legendary service.
- Answer questions regarding store merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs and desires.
- Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience.
- Demonstrate product using product knowledge and sales education, and share that knowledge with teammates.
- Maintain and share knowledge of current sales, promotions, payment/exchange policies, and security practices.
- Aim for consistent personal sales performance and pursue opportunities to impact teammates’ presentation using the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
- Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by store management.
- Assist guests in fitting or trying on merchandise.
- Check out and bag purchases.
- Prepare merchandise for alterations.
- Knowledgeable of all exchange and return procedures and present them as a show‑manship opportunity.
- Fill out and effectively use the SPG daily to accomplish goals.
- Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business builders and guest loyalty areas.
- Place special orders or call other stores to locate desired merchandise.
- Maintain and build strong guest relationships to develop a client‑based business.
- Continuously develop knowledge of Buckle’s customer‑service expectations to meet guest needs.
- Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, even when Manager is not present.
- Consistently identify recruiting opportunities by utilizing Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate Recommend.
- Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred initiatives.
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude, creating a positive floor culture.
- Present merchandise in a manner that maximizes sales and achieves optimal merchandise turnover.
- Stay current on product range.
- Collaborate with teammates and guests to identify product improvements, new product ideas, and feedback.
- Ensure the sales floor is consistently stocked and new freight is appropriately displayed.
- Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving day, and Christmas.

216 readers, and perform cash handling test, count money, and make deposits. - Recognize and respond to security risks and theft; apply Loss Prevention guidelines including bag and purse checks.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of POS procedures.
- Apply all policies regarding payments, exchanges, and Loss Prevention.
- Complete merchandising tasks (handle freight, re‑merchandise, prepare displays, markdowns, transfers).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store.
- Provide feedback to Store Manager and Leadership Team regarding merchandise concerns.
- Communicate policy violations and concerns promptly and confidentially to Store Manager, District Manager, or Human Resources.
- Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies, procedures, and handbooks.
- Contribute to positive team spirit while delivering high‑level customer service.
- Assume special projects PC assigned by management.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
