Responsibilities
Receptionist at Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is responsible for greeting visitors, managing mail, documenting deliveries, providing clerical support, assisting safety and security initiatives, announcing codes, ensuring visitor sign‑in/out, and identifying escalation issues.
- Greets visitors, creates a warm environment, determines reason for visit, ensures sign‑in/out procedures, creates temporary badges.
- Answers telephone in a timely manner and directs caller to appropriate department or employee.
- Assists in expedient announcement of codes and fire drills.
- Accepts and documents receipt of patient belongings, notifies inventory staff of receipt, assists with inventory clerk duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required by this position.

QualificationsJob Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of experience on a multi‑line telephone switchboard in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills and verbal acuity suited to interacting with the public.
- Ability to work 8am‑4:30pm, Saturdays and 8am‑2pm, Sundays with flexibility for other days on an as needed basis.
- Employment with Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital requires successful completion of a Level II background screening.
