Position: Marine Science Instructor (PART-TIME) – Emerald & Forgotten Coast Adventures

Job Title: Marine Science Instructor (PART-TIME)

Location: Multi-Field Site Locations include Grayton Beach State Park, Camp Helen State Park, St. Andrews State Park, and Tyndall Air Force Base.

Job Type: Part-Time, Seasonal

Pay Rate: $17/hr

Hours: 8am-12noon/1pm (depending on the Field Trip), on-site for each field trip

Commitment: Assistance with 10 trips per month (Fall Season: Sept-November 2025; Spring Season: February-May 2026)

Join our dynamic team at Emerald Forgotten Coast Adventures for an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate young minds about marine science! We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and passionate Marine Science Instructor.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate educational activities: facilitate hands‑on, engaging, immersive experiences out in the field.
  • Assist with operations: help set up and break down activity stations.
  • Collaborate with team: work with fellow instructors, volunteers, and staff.
  • Ensure student safety: prioritize the safety and well‑being of all participants.
  • Badging required by the Bay District School security office (requires background check and fingerprinting).
  • Passion for marine science: strong interest in marine ecosystems and environmental conservation.
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to engage and educate youth with enthusiasm and clarity.
  • Physical fitness: ability to participate in outdoor activities in various weather conditions; comfortable in and around water.
  • Team player: strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    background check and fingerprinting; completion of Bay District School security badge.
Preferred
  • Degree in marine biology, environmental science, education, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with youth in an outdoor or educational setting.
