ESE Intervention Teacher
Location: Panama City, FL area

Position Summary: ESI is seeking an ESE Intervention Teacher who is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans that facilitate active learning, participating in all required school meetings, as well as communicating students' needs with parents/guardians. The ESE Intervention Teacher will work primarily with pre-Kindergarten and elementary education aged students and follow the push-in model.
Qualifications- Bachelor Degree from accredited college or university required
- Possession of a Florida Educator Certification or Statement of Status of Eligibility.
- Highly Qualified in Exceptional Student Education
- Prior Teaching Experience Preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, climb, crawl, push a cart, or lift during the entire shift.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, including small packages and supplies.
- Ability to pass Level 2 background check.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Incorporates current and effective research-based strategies when planning for instruction taking into account the skills, knowledge, interests, cultural heritage, and special needs of ESE students.
- Identifies and provides a variety of instructional resources (including but not limited to technology and outside resources) as appropriate for each student’s needs.
- Plans instructional strategies and accommodations for ESE students.
- Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Organizes and manages groups of individual ESE pupils ensuring differentiation of learning needs, materials, and assignments/assessments that accommodate and reflect all academic levels.
- Creates a community of learning by planning for opportunities to develop the social, emotional and cultural aspects of pupils’ learning.
- Engages ESE students in meaningful work by inviting students to think critically and creating opportunities for students to participate in genuine discussions.
- Light Work:
Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 15 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects. - Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. - Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects. - Monitors students’ understanding, make instructional adjustments to ensure a complex understanding of curriculum and provide students with timely appropriate feedback.
- Demonstrates implementation of the MTSS Problem Solving Process through progress monitoring as well as academic and behavioral support.
- Reflects on instructional practice as it pertains to ESE student success and prepares alternative strategies as appropriate.
- Communicates with parents (i.e., conferences, email, phone, parent portal, class website, district approved program, etc.) on a regular basis to encourage family engagement in the instructional program as well as their child’s progress.
- Ensures effective use of available resources within the classroom, including parent volunteers, paraprofessionals and associate teachers.
- Participates in staff meetings as required.
- Shares professional development with the faculty/district/state as appropriate.
- Ensures that school and district policies are reflected in daily practice.
- Supervises student behavior on school grounds (i.e. playground, hall and student pick-up area), within approved student contact minutes.
- Carries direct responsibility for classroom discipline and maintenance of School Board property.
- Performs other applicable duties as assigned by principal.
- Acts as ESE case manager to ensure individual education plans are appropriate, timely, and implemented.
