The Facilities Engineering Technician will provide technical support services in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) to assist NSWC PCD facilities management, in support of Naval Support Activity, Panama City (NSA PC), under the direction of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD).
Responsibilities- Updating and maintaining drawings for space allocations in the NSWC PCD Master Space Plans using AUTOCAD® software.
- Preparing and modifying conceptual drawings of executive, conventional stand‑alone, and systems furniture layouts in various configurations for Government review.
- Converting drawings into common formats (PDF, JPEG) for accessibility without AUTOCAD®.
- Maintaining a well‑defined tracking system for the NSWC PCD Master Space Plans.
- Collecting field data, analysing results, and preparing record drawings.
- Preparing drawings to graphically communicate ARCHIBUS information for site approval requests, NAVFAC work requests, engineering sketches, and other facility‑related documents.
- Maintaining NSWC PCD’s inventory tracker of furniture items and components available for reuse (currently in Microsoft Excel).
- Supporting the transition to a new Space Management System (e.g., ARCHIBUS) and ensuring facility space utilisation data remains current.
- Must have a favorably adjudicated Tier 3 Background Investigation for access to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Proficiency in AUTOCAD® software for drafting and design.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to convert technical drawings into accessible formats (PDF, JPEG).
- Knowledge of ARCHIBUS or similar space management systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for interaction with technical, scientific, and management personnel.
- Experience in facilities management or engineering support roles.
- Ability to collect, analyse and interpret field data for record drawings.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking and space utilisation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain organised tracking systems and documentation.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organisational skills.
- Effective communicator across multiple levels of personnel.
- Adaptable to evolving systems and processes (e.g., transition to ARCHIBUS).
- Problem‑solving mindset with ability to resolve technical and logistical issues.
