What We're Looking For: Barge is seeking a CEI Project Administrator based out of our Panama City Beach, FL office. The CEI Project Administrator position involves oversight of various projects including transportation, utility, and other types of infrastructure project (roadway and bridge experience is preferred). Responsibilities include construction contract administration and field inspection including maintaining various construction logs, creating agendas and minutes for meetings, coordinating with senior inspectors and inspectors, and assisting with providing instruction in field-related inspection duties.
Makes technical decisions, review monthly project schedules, monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with contract documents, also directs and assigns specific tasks to administrative and field staff throughout all phases of the construction project.
- Presents critical thinking skills in specific practice area; applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks
- Coordinate construction meetings and produce minutes for review and distribution
- Oversee the Contract Support Specialist in office-related duties such as progress, and final estimates, EEO compliance, construction contract changes, etc.
- Assist members of the CEI team in other office-related tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbally and writing)
- Ability to think independently and also work in a group setting.
- Knowledge of and experience working with FDOT Standard Specifications, FDOT Standard Plans and FDOT Construction Project Administrator's Manual
- Familiarity with FDOT plans, procedures and policies.
- Eight (8) years of CEI experience or eight (8) years of roadway / bridge construction experience on relevant projects
- OR a Civil Engineering or Construction Management Degree plus two (2) years of engineering experience in the construction of roadway / bridge projects
- CTQP Final Estimates Level II or can be obtained within 3 months of hire date
- CTQP Quality Control Manager or can be obtained within 3 months of hire date
- FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) or can be obtained within 3 months of hire date
