Electrical Construction Estimator

Post Electric, Inc. is looking for an Electrical Estimator that is self-sufficient, driven, able to work in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong leadership skills, and ready for a long-term career position. This position would involve working directly with owners, project managers and superintendents in various aspects of preconstruction procurement.

Responsibilities include material requisition, resource (people, tools, and material) management, submittals, purchase orders, regular site visits, change order, request for information, pay application and closeout documents.

• Manage the entire bid process from initial inquiry through final proposal submission for assigned electrical projects
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to thoroughly understand project scope, conditions, and requirements
• Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs from RFP, construction documents, specifications, and other bid documents
• Develop detailed material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
  Identify and evaluate project risks and opportunities to ensure accurate and competitive pricing
• Present estimates and proposals to internal teams and external clients
• Maintain and update internal cost databases and historical project data
• Collaborate closely with Company Owners, Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders during the estimating phase
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering or Construction Management Preferred OR Field & Relevant Skills/Qualifications in leu of degree
• Minimum of 6+ years’ experience as an Electrical Estimator supporting the preconstruction & completion of New-Build & Retrofit Commercial Buildings, Military Construction (New-Build and Renovations) up to $10M+ in Electrical Budget.
• In-depth understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations
• Must have extensive knowledge with change order pricing such as negotiating and discussing engineering issues
• Software knowledge within Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, Accubid, etc.
• Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bids concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.and able to work on Military Bases
