Ophthalmic Technician IV at Eye South Partners

Eye Center of North Florida was founded in 1999 and is one of the most established eye care practices in the Florida panhandle. The practice offers treatment for dry eye, low vision rehabilitation, advanced imaging, cataract and refractive surgeries, and other ophthalmic services. This high‑volume practice focuses on providing quality and compassionate eye care services.

• Obtaining and documenting patient history.
• Determining visual acuity and performing automated and manual refraction for diagnostic purposes.
• Conducting retinoscopy and lensometry for prescribing purposes, including advanced lensometry.
• Performing pupillary assessment and static/kinetic visual field testing.
• Administering eye drops, ointments, irrigation solutions, and performing intraocular pressure measurement.
• Assisting with pre‑operative preparation, surgical instrument preparation, and operating‑room assistance for minor and refractive surgeries.
• Operating imaging equipment such as OCT, topography, and fundus photography.
• Executing amblyopia treatment (patching, drops, prism) and post‑operative education.
• Performing laboratory tasks such as preparing and labeling microscope slides and culture media.
• Maintaining and repairing ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
• Managing patient education, advanced refracting skills, and providing education on wound healing.

• Seven (7) or more years of ophthalmic technician experience preferred.
• Current COT certification required and COMT preferred.
• Dependable transportation for traveling to other offices.
• Flexibility to travel to various locations.
• Attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, and ability to seek instruction in areas of uncertainty.
