Position Summary: Plan, organize and direct front office activities to ensure a smooth flow of patient registration and accurate billing submission.
Performance Expectations- Schedule new patient and follow‑up appointments with appropriate physicians.
- Collect confidential patient demographics and financial data; assemble charts in prescribed order.
- Greet patients, answer phone courteously, take messages and physician referrals.
- Promptly admit patients, obtain signatures, insurance cards, verification, authorization numbers, and pre‑certifications.
- Assist patients in understanding insurance coverage, filing requirements, and financial responsibilities.
- Work with physician offices to supply required patient insurance information.
- Accurately enter billing/charge information into the computer system.
- Assist with volunteer training.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and, when necessary, “turn over the room.”
- Demonstrate competency annually per department skills validation checklist.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Applicable work experience may substitute for education.
None required.
Experience Required or Preferred- 1‑3 years of previous healthcare registration and/or billing experience preferred.
- Advanced computer skills required.
