About the Position

The Warehouse Manager (WM) is responsible for the oversight of day‑to‑day operations supporting government property accountability and warehouse functions at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division. This role requires experience in DoD logistics, inventory systems, personnel management, and compliance with Navy property procedures.

The WM must be available Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding Federal holidays or government facility closures.

Key Responsibilities Leadership and Program Oversight
  • Supervise warehouse staff performing receipt, storage, inventory, issue, packaging, shipping, and disposal of government‑owned material.
  • Enforce compliance with Navy ERP, DPAS, and DoD property accountability requirements.
  • Submit monthly reports per contract data requirements.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership and clients to proactively address challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Provide oversight into the development of Standard Operating Procedures and process maps.
  • Knowledgeable in risk management policies and assessment methodologies, identifying and mitigating potential risks to warehouse operations.
Operational Management
  • Ensure adherence to site safety protocols and enforce compliance with established procedures.
  • Oversee daily logistics operations, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and workflow efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), taking corrective action when performance is outside target thresholds.
  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and performance metrics to optimize warehouse efficiency and meet program objectives.
  • Ensure proper use and documentation of MHE and Motor Vehicle operations.
  • Maintain accuracy and timeliness of Navy ERP transactions, Key Supporting Documents (KSDs), and associated reporting.
  • Support inspection readiness, COSIS, shelf‑life management, and DEMIL procedures.
  • Ensure timely delivery and issue of priority materials (IPG 1‑3).
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate associates to ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and training activities.
  • Administer performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Promote career development and employee retention initiatives.
Client and Stakeholder Relations
  • Work closely with Quality, Safety, Program, Mission Support, Business Development, and Contract/Compliance Teams.
  • Conduct formal presentations and status briefings as required.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Proficient in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and/or other Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Proficient in warehouse operations. The duties will include overseeing receiving, shipping, storing (stowing), selecting (picking) supply turn‑in (disposal), packing (kitting and stuffing) or unpacking (downloading) and inventory of general or specialized material and equipment.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in logistics, maintenance, or engineering environments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic setting.
