• Actively participate in department and hospital committees and ensure unit personnel involvement.
• Assess need for and assist in implementation of staff development programs.
• Assume administrative responsibility for service provision on designated shift in collaboration with other managers; formulate staff schedule with the department director.
• Provide direct and ongoing supervision of staff regarding conflict resolution and personnel policy compliance, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Collaborate with preceptors and new employees to facilitate integration into the team.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge base in nursing practice, equipment operation and policies/procedures used in patient care.
• Ensure repair and maintenance problems are reported promptly.
• Ensure all quality checks are conducted within given time frame (e.g., refrigerator/freezer temperatures, crash cart, blanket warmer checks).
• Implement active case management of the patient’s healthcare process for all supervised patients.
• Assist with clinical procedures as needed.
• Collect and analyze data for decision‑making; seek opportunities to improve care or system processes; incorporate performance improvement principles and data.

• Associate Degree or higher (APRN, RN).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor within 60 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor within 60 days of employment start date.
