Who You AreYou are energetic, enjoy outdoor work, and bring knowledge of vegetation management within the utility space.
Responsibilities- Inspect rights‑of‑way vegetation conditions and determine maintenance activities.
- Utilize client systems and applications for high utilization.
- Assist with bid package maps and work manifests.
- Research easement and land rights for widths, rights, and restrictions.
- Meet with landowners to explain vegetation management work.
- Mark and respond to public concerns and questions.
- Assist in development of public relations materials and contractor support.
- Inspect contractor work for compliance with utility specifications.
- Assist in storm restoration operations and special projects as assigned.
- Utility Arborist II – ISA Certified Arborist or Natural Sciences BS Degree;
Proficient in OM and CM work processes;
Minimum of 1 year utility line clearance or planning experience;
Meets all requirements of Utility Arborist III. - Utility Arborist III – Ability to learn computer systems;
Basic tree identification;
Basic electric utility system knowledge;
Knowledge of regional tree species.
- Degree in Forestry, GIS, or extensive line cleaning experience.
- Fully qualified to relieve client arborist.
- At least 3 years inventory or design arborist experience.
- Leadership and initiative in VM program execution.
- Operating Systems & Devices: macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Linux environments.
- Software & Platforms: GE GridOS, GE Intelligence, Asset Performance Management, Proficy; ESRI ArcGIS, Survey
123; WMS platforms;
Microsoft Office Suite.
Work alone in outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; travel between sites; walking/hiking on varied terrain; exposure to noise, dust, grease, weather, hazardous traffic.
SafetyCommit to personal safety, safety briefings, and safety messages to the team and clients.
Pre‑Qualifications- Pass a pre‑employment drug test.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
$24.00 – $27.00 per hour
