Position

Summary

Manufacturing Quality Control work includes:

  • Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards.
  • Testing random samples of finished goods.
  • Reporting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods and liaising with Quality Assurance to troubleshoot and resolve problems.

Location:

Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receiving inspection and testing.
  • In-process inspecting and testing in accordance with Quality System work instructions. Included in this are reading, drawings/blueprints, determining methods for dimensional inspections, inspection of paint and other coatings, weld inspection, and identification of material and inspected items to show inspection status.
  • Final inspection to verify that items exhibit acceptable workmanship, and that inspection reports/certificate of conformance are completed and ready for shipment with the product.
  • Visual weld inspection of welds and base material.
  • Maintenance of logs, filling out nonconforming material reports, and other required records of inspection and tests.
  • Assuring that inspection gages and equipment are in current calibration.
Non-essential Duties
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to effectively communicate requirements with suppliers and sub-contractors.

Working Conditions
  • Generally, work performed indoors (80%) and occasional outdoors (20%). Hours of work depend on shift assigned.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
  • Occasional travel to vendor sites for product evaluations.
  • Work surface is stable (flat).
  • Requires a great deal of manual dexterity, such as working with measuring and testing equipment, marking and hand/power tools.
Physical Activities and Requirements

This position is considered LIGHT work.

  • Occasional:
    Lift up to 20 pounds, climbing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching.
  • Frequent:
    Lift up to 10 pounds, standing.
  • Constant:
    Repetitive movements of arms and hands; sit with back supported.
