** POSITION SUMMARY
** Operate cranes to lift and move materials, machines, or products in many directions.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
** Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
* Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
* Inspects and adjusts crane mechanisms and accessory equipment to prevent malfunctions and wear.
* Inspect cables and grappling devices for wear and tear and defects.
* Operate and provide care and maintenance for TLL or LBC cranes.
* Understand and utilize crane load charts and Load Moment Indicator (LMI) systems.
* Perform multi-crane lifts and operations, and pick-and-carry operations.
* Work with hand signals from Universal Standard Signal Chart.
* Work with minimal supervision.
* Perform other duties as assigned.# ##

** REQUIREMENTS
* *** Education/

Experience:

** High school diploma or GED. Must have crane certification for TLL or LBC. Requires knowledge of and ship terminology, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Requires strong knowledge of rigging.

* Skills:

** Ability to read and comprehend written, oral, or diagram forms or plans. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to read and understand load charts. Knowledge of the safe operation and use of hand and power tools. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure.
** Behavioral Attributes:

** Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

** PHYSICAL DEMANDS
** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to coordinate movements of two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. The employee is required to have the ability to quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.

The employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
