Pavement Maintenance Specialist

job summary

performs maintenance, repair and installation of both rigid and flexible pavements, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, storm water drainage systems and chain link fences.

performs all other duties as assigned to satisfy the operational requirements of the contract.

• high school diploma or equivalent
• class b florida driver's license with air brake endorsement
• flight line driving permit certification (to be obtained upon hiring)
• national agency check clerance certification

work may be performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures, noise, and inclement weather conditions determined by the nature of the job. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft surfaces, pavement structures and surfaces at variable heights.

• ability to lift 50 pounds
• demonstrated ability to competently perform operational responsibilities of position.
• ability to read, write, speak and understand american english.
• team player- ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
• ability to understand and have working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings.

the rate for this position is $34.92. This position may also be eligible for a wide range of benefits based on applicable bargaining unit agreements.
