DEFINITION
:
This entry-level position assists senior Airport Staff with tasks including regulatory compliance, project coordination, and operational issues related to terminal and landside functions, including ground transportation. Supports customer service to ensure passenger and business safety and convenience. Provides operational support for a small hub, commercial airport, including public relations, operational and construction issues, and other projects. Also supports administrative functions through phone and walk-in customer service.


EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
:
Performs routine activities to ensure efficient airport operation. Tasks require analytical thinking to develop solutions. Compiles and verifies technical information, prepares reports, charts, or tables, and evaluates data to make recommendations. Researches and assembles data from records, resolutions, or orders. Supports projects by coordinating documentation and data collection, and liaising with tenants, stakeholders, passengers, air carriers, and staff. Ensures compliance with FAA Part 139 and TSA Part 1542 regulations.

Provides operational support across departments, interacts with the public, tenants, and staff. Responds promptly to email requests, researches technical questions, and resolves concerns, ensuring efficiency and accuracy using available tools.


QUALIFICATIONS
: A four-year degree in aviation management, airport management, business administration, public administration, or a related field. One year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience at a public service airport is highly desirable. Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms are required. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license. A pilot’s license is a plus.


MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
:
Must pass pre-employment drug testing and periodic testing per airport policy. Must pass a 10-year, fingerprint-based criminal history check as required by TSA. The schedule includes shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and may require emergency call-outs.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT
:
Indoor and outdoor environments, exposure to dust, pollen, extreme weather, noise, fumes, and odors.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
:
Must meet physical requirements to perform essential functions, including occasionally lifting 20-35 lbs., pushing/pulling, kneeling, climbing, crawling, reaching, driving; frequently lifting 20 lbs. or less, bending, twisting, standing; constantly using hand/fine motor skills, walking, sitting, typing.
