Senior Engineer - Product Support

Job Summary

GKN Fokker Aerospace has an urgent requirement to recruit a suitably qualified and able candidate to assist the existing ILS team Specialists in conducting MSG-3 analysis in support of the NH90 and other programs. The successful candidate should be aware of ILS principles based on MIL-STD-1388-2B for LSA, utilizing the EAGLE LSAR relational database tool, and understand the principles for development and ongoing continuous optimization of aircraft Maintenance Programs & planning in accordance with Air Transport Association (ATA) Maintenance Steering Group 3 (MSG) 3 process.

Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) is essential for efficient and cost‑effective management of complex programs throughout the product life‑cycle from inception to end of life. The ILS service team supports the NHI industries NH90 Tactical Transport and Naval Frigate fleets worldwide, maintaining a robust LSAR database that aligns with helicopter configurations and supports both current and future design iterations.

• The ILS Engineer/Maintenance Analyst will be a major contributor with responsibilities including:

  • Supporting continued airworthiness activities through ILS.
  • Providing ILS support to meet contracted deliverables to the projects.
  • Administering scheduled/preventive maintenance tasks and analysis outcomes required to sustain design configurations that result from ATA MSG‑3 analysis.
  • Performing Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) for each maintenance task, identifying required support such as aerospace ground equipment (AGE), tooling, spare parts, consumables, etc.
  • Working with other ILS disciplines/colleagues (Technical Publications, IPD, Material Support, AGE, Design Office Engineering Specialists) to harmonize the flow of data.
  • Participating in international working groups and meetings.
  • Keeping the Maintenance Review Board (MRB) process document up‑to‑date and relevant when required.
  • Incorporating required engineering and support changes into the MSG‑3 analysis.
  • Presenting the status and content of the MSG‑3 as/when required.
  • Performing LSA activities compliant with MIL‑STD‑1388‑1A/2B requirements and GKN Fokker Aerospace approved processes, especially for the NH90 program.

• 10-15 years of working experience.
• Practitioner knowledge of LSA/LSAR 1388‑1B & 2B (preferably over 2 years).
• Knowledge and awareness of Raytheon EAGLE LSAR DB.
• Knowledge of MIL‑STD 1388, DEF STAN 00‑60, AECMA, ASD S1000, S2000 & S3000.
• Working knowledge of how to conduct maintenance development and analysis in accordance with ATA MSG‑3 principles.
• Capability to obtain security clearance on military projects.
• Engineering background, preferably in aerospace ILS and with some military support experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially MSG‑3 and downstream document/report preparation.
• Good standard of spoken & written English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
