Position SummaryProcesses member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware. Uses appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold. Maintains merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating. Removes damaged or out-of-date goods, sets up cleaning and organizing product displays, signs and prices merchandise, secures fragile and high‑shrink merchandise. Maintains the Pharmacy area by handling claims, returns, pricing, creating signs, verifying on‑hand merchandise, arranging and organizing supplies, identifying shrink and damages, ensuring a safe work environment, completing required paperwork, logs, and other documentation.
Monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process, including processing third‑party insurance claims, rescanning illegible images, alerting patients to inventory stock‑outs, partial fills, and needs for physician authorizations. Promotes and maintains the pharmacy’s professional reputation, assists pharmacists in prescription fulfillment and insurance claims, endeavors to provide patients with pharmacy products and services in compliance with local, state, federal laws, corporate policies, and procedures.
Provides patient‑member service, acknowledges members, identifies needs, initiates prescription fulfillment, creates prescription orders, promotes products, resolves member issues, assists purchase decisions, locates over‑the‑counter merchandise, and maintains a safe shopping environment. Enters prescription data into pharmacy software, transcribes prescription data, and creates or modifies patient records. Fills prescriptions, retrieves orders, measures medication, mixes, reconstitutes, labels, and uses scanning equipment or automated dispensing systems to ensure accuracy.
Provides member assistance during prescription pickup, verifies and enters patient information, marks prescriptions for pickup, retrieves bags, scans security tags, collects digital signatures for HIPAA acknowledgment and third‑party payors, and logs restricted pharmaceutical item sales. Completes work assignments and priorities using policies, data, resources, and collaboration, identifies priorities, deadlines, and expectations, and proposes improvement opportunities while adapting to change. Complies with company policies, procedures, standards of ethics and integrity, and engages in continuous improvement and learning.

Minimum QualificationsMeets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy. Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
