Duties

This Registered Nurse (RN) position is located within the Papillion – CHI Midlands Hospital Campus at 11111 South 84th Street. VA Community Living Centers provide extended hospital care and short‑term rehabilitation, including help with activities of daily living, skilled nursing, and dementia care. The CLC has 33 beds, serving Veterans needing 30‑90 days of skilled rehabilitation or dementia/neurocognitive support. The mission is to restore each Veteran to his or her highest level of well‑being, prevent declines, and provide comfort at the end of life.

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age‑specific components.
  • Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self‑management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
  • Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
  • Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Performs complex procedures including catheterizations, venipuncture, central line dressing changes, wound care, heparin or saline flushes in peripheral lines and PICC lines.
  • Responds to patient emergencies, initiating life‑saving measures while waiting for help to arrive. Ability to provide Basic Life Support if needed.

Preferred Experience :
Long‑term care and/or rehabilitation experience.
