Summary of Work

Enhanced Advocates provide crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals, and information about the criminal justice system.

Compensation

$20 per weekday, $30 per weekend, and $17 per hour when on call.

Work Schedule

On-call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., evenings, and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on holidays and weekends. Willing to cover at least one weekend per month and two holidays per year.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System, Social Work, and Domestic Violence preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respond to hospitals or law enforcement to provide face-to-face crisis intervention and support.
  • Maintain availability during on-call hours.
  • Be on site within 30 minutes of a call.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide referrals and follow-up as needed.
  • Complete initial 8 hours of training within two weeks of hire.
  • Attend quarterly meetings.
  • Cover two major holidays per year:
    New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve.
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, clients, and the community.
  • Demonstrate crisis intervention skills with diverse clients.
  • Maintain a courteous, caring attitude.
  • Be dependable and punctual.
  • Follow all policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Create and share a self-care plan.
  • Contribute to community engagement and fundraising efforts.
  • Perform duties at the physical work site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
