Position requires making frequent decisions or actions following general procedures often without clearly defined precedents. Requires a high degree of mental alertness, close visual attention to details, diplomacy and a professional image in dealing with patients, families, visitors, and clinic personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and arrange for the efficient and orderly registration of patients.
  • Ensure that accurate patient and insurance information is collected and that patients are made aware of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Answer telephone calls and billing questions from patients.
  • Process medical records requests, information requests and general patient account functions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Make frequent decisions or actions following general procedures.
Job Summary
  • Schedule OP tests in an efficient and timely manner, coordinating with physicians and various departments.
  • Access confidential patient information as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism in interactions with physician offices and clinic staff.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in customer service setting, preferably six months reception experience in health care setting and experience with office equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
Physical Requirements
  • Normal office environment. Close eye work, vision must be corrected to 20/20.
  • Hearing of normal & soft tones.
  • Sitting for 7‑8 hours/day; required to stand, walk, use fingers to handle objects, tools, controls.
  • Hand‑eye coordination and finger dexterity. Reach with hands and arms.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • May be exposed to airborne particles.
  • Must be able to view computer screens for long periods. Occasional stress related to workload and customer issues.
