Position requires making frequent decisions or actions following general procedures often without clearly defined precedents. Requires a high degree of mental alertness, close visual attention to details, diplomacy and a professional image in dealing with patients, families, visitors, and clinic personnel.
Responsibilities- Greet patients and arrange for the efficient and orderly registration of patients.
- Ensure that accurate patient and insurance information is collected and that patients are made aware of clinic policies and procedures.
- Answer telephone calls and billing questions from patients.
- Process medical records requests, information requests and general patient account functions.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Make frequent decisions or actions following general procedures.
- Schedule OP tests in an efficient and timely manner, coordinating with physicians and various departments.
- Access confidential patient information as needed.
- Maintain professionalism in interactions with physician offices and clinic staff.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one-year experience in customer service setting, preferably six months reception experience in health care setting and experience with office equipment.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Normal office environment. Close eye work, vision must be corrected to 20/20.
- Hearing of normal & soft tones.
- Sitting for 7‑8 hours/day; required to stand, walk, use fingers to handle objects, tools, controls.
- Hand‑eye coordination and finger dexterity. Reach with hands and arms.
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- May be exposed to airborne particles.
- Must be able to view computer screens for long periods. Occasional stress related to workload and customer issues.
