Position SummaryWe are seeking a Dental Assistant – Prosthodontist to support our prosthodontic team. The assistant works under a dentist’s supervision to prepare equipment, ready patients for procedures, and assists during procedures by passing instruments, suction, and anticipating dentist needs. Responsibilities may include sutures, x‑ray processing, and taking oral impressions for crowns.
Responsibilities- Work under direct supervision of the Prosthodontist.
- Perform patient care, office, and laboratory duties, providing chairside assistance while dentists examine and treat patients.
- Ensure patients are comfortable, prepare them for treatment, and obtain dental records.
- Hand instruments and materials to dentists, keep patients’ mouths dry and clear using suction or other devices.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, prepare trays for dental procedures, and instruct patients on postoperative care.
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations, take dental x‑rays, and process x‑ray film as directed.
- Assist with radiographic procedures and support patients as directed.
- Perform office duties: scheduling, confirming appointments, receiving patients, maintaining records, handling bills and payments, and ordering supplies.
- Assist in specialty areas such as oral surgery, periodontics, and prosthodontics, including dental implantology.
- Support the hygienist, cleaning trays, room setup, and cleanup.
- Track inventory of prosthetic supplies and keep storage organized.
- Support radiographic needs of Patient Education Consultants, Oral Surgeon, and Hygienists.
- Dental assistants work in a well‑lit, clean environment near the dental chair.
- Must wear gloves, masks, eyewear, and protective clothing to protect from infectious diseases.
- Follow safety procedures to minimize risks associated with x‑ray machines.
- Certified Dental Assistant (A.D.A. or equivalent).
- Minimum two years of Dental Assistant experience.
- Dental implant experience desired.
- Reliable, works well in a fast‑paced environment, and has good manual dexterity.
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Work in an office environment at own and others’ desks.
- Walk and stand for extended periods.
- Lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain steady hand and arm movements for small object manipulation.
- Adjust machine controls quickly and accurately.
- Perform multi‑limb coordination while sitting or standing.
- Maintain trunk strength to support continuous or repetitive motion.
- Shift between multiple activities or information sources.
The anticipated range for this position is $24–$28 per hour.
