Overview
Valley Health System, affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, is actively recruiting a Pediatric Neurologist to join the team as Medical Director of the Pediatric Neurology Program. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a compassionate, dedicated, and forward-thinking Pediatric Neurology specialist with a focus on Neuro-Developmental or Epilepsy care.
Position DetailsThe Pediatric Neurology program provides consultation and other professional services as part of the Valley Medical Group and Valley-Mount Sinai Children’s Health Service line in northern New Jersey. This lead clinician will provide clinical expertise in pediatric neurology care at the Valley Hospital, the Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD). The role includes consultation and education for clinicians, clients, community groups, and support for broader community-based services for special needs populations.
Participation in Department of Pediatrics activities, KCCD, and Hospital Committee meetings is expected as deemed appropriate by the Chair. Outward outreach to schools, childcare programs, parent groups, and other programs is also part of this role. The KCCD offers a broad spectrum of services, including speech, physical, and occupational therapy; a complete audiology service is available on-site.
- Provide clinical leadership in pediatric neurology care at the Valley Hospital and KCCD
- Offer consultation and education to clinicians, clients, and community groups
- Support and develop the pediatric neurology program within a multi-specialty group
- Engage in outreach to community organizations and schools
- Participate in relevant Department of Pediatrics activities and hospital committee meetings
- Collaborate with PM&R and Developmental Pediatrics teams; EEG interpretation experience is a plus
- An MD or equivalent degree
- Board certified in Pediatric Neurology
- Existing or eligible for New Jersey Medical License, DEA, and CDS
- Maintains CME credits as required for Board Certification and hospital privileges
- Experience or interest in management of autism and other pervasive developmental disorders
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong clinical skills with ability to develop a superior clinical service
- Ability to foster a respectful, equitable, and inclusive work environment
