Per Diem Educational Consultant (6-12 ELA) – Savvas Learning Company

New York, NY
Onsite representative helping districts and schools implement Savvas products to support curriculum delivery, professional development, and technology integration. The role requires deep knowledge of school reform, strong coaching skills, and the ability to deliver high‑quality, job‑embedded training.
Primary Responsibilities- Implement classroom components and resources of the program.
- Apply the philosophy, pedagogy, and basic organization of the program.
- Execute each segment of the daily instructional block.
- Differentiate instruction based on student need.
- Manage a Savvas curriculum classroom and integrate technology and devices.
- Utilize data and reporting tools to inform instruction and decision‑making.
- Model coaching conversations that support administrators with effective teacher feedback.
- Coach teachers on program philosophy and pedagogy.
- Observe classroom practices post‑professional development to assess implementation progress.
- Provide critical feedback and formative guidance based on observation.
- Use Savvas dashboards (Performance and Assignment) for data‑based decision‑making.
- Analyze program tools to determine implementation needs and provide ongoing coach support.
- Facilitate training and onsite technical support for teachers and leaders.
- Maintain regular communication with school and district leaders.
- B.A. or B.S. degree required; M.A. preferred.
- At least five years of successful teaching experience in a 6‑12 school setting, with emphasis on ELA.
- Experience of fering workshops and coaching to teachers.
- Experience with classroom-based technology integration and differentiated instruction.
- Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher in a 6‑12 environment.
- Strong collaboration, team‑building, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of standards‑based reform, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Ability to plan strategically and coach school leaders and classroom teachers.
- Capability to provide instructional support across content areas using instructional technology.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent presentation skills for large and small groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Scaffolding instruction for English Language Learners.
- Certification in bilingual education (preferred).
- Scaffolding instruction for students with disabilities.
- Strategies for effective instructional technology use.
- Experience in virtual teaching and learning.
- Programs and services to support community outreach.
Ability to maintain a high volume of work, handle multiple priorities, and operate in a demanding environment. Reasonable accommodations are available for persons with disabilities. The role requires sitting or standing at a computer for extended periods and presenting as needed.
Travel RequirementsMust travel up to 70%, including airline and automobile travel. A reliable method of transportation is required.
