Per Diem Educational Consultant (K-12 Science) –

The role is an onsite representative responsible for delivering core content, professional development, and job‑embedded services in K‑12 science. The consultant will provide individual and group support for district personnel and school faculty to incorporate effective strategies into classroom practice, deliver professional development, and provide technical assistance to schools contracted for Savvas services. Deep knowledge of academia, standards‑based reform, and experience in coaching teachers and school leaders using Savvas products and technology‑driven methodologies is essential.
Responsibilities- Implement classroom components and resources, applying the program’s philosophy, pedagogy, and organization.
- Manage daily instructional blocks, differentiate instruction based on student need, and integrate technology and devices.
- Utilize Savvas curriculum tools, data and reporting dashboards to inform instruction and decision making.
- Coach teachers to apply and adapt the program’s philosophy, pedagogy, and organization, providing coaching conversations to support administrators with effective teacher feedback.
- Observe classroom practices following professional development to assess implementation progress and provide critical feedback.
- Support administrators by utilizing program tools to determine implementation needs, observing practice and giving feedback.
- Facilitate training and on‑site technical support, maintaining regular communication with school and district leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field;
Master’s preferred. - At least five years of successful teaching experience in a K‑12 science setting.
- Experience of fering workshops and coaching to teachers.
- Proficiency in classroom technology integration.
- Experience with differentiated instruction.
- Strong collaboration, team building, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present content to large and small groups.
- Strategic planning skills to coach school leaders and classroom teachers.
- Knowledge of standards‑based reform, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Ability to provide instructional support for effective teaching strategies across content areas using instructional technology.
- Experience scaffolding instruction for English language learners.
- Certification in bilingual education.
- Experience scaffolding instruction for students with disabilities.
- Strategies for effective classroom use of instructional technology.
- Experience in virtual teaching and learning.
- Experience in community outreach programs and services.
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available.
- Proficiency with a personal computer for typing, reading, and presenting.
- Capacity to handle high workload, multiple priorities, and a demanding work environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Must be able to travel up to 70 % of the time, including airline and automobile travel. A reliable method of transportation is required.
