Summary
Evelyn Street Day School is seeking to hire a full‑time, year‑round lead child care/preschool teacher for a young Toddler Group. Duties
- Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
- Work with students and teachers to provide an optimal learning environment.
- Offer aid to children when needed.
- Prepare and execute lesson plans and activities to reflect ESDS curriculum.
- Facilitate individual and small group work so that students can enjoy a more specialized learning experience.
- Maintain the health and well‑being of the children under your supervision (cleaning, meal preparation and dealing with minor injuries).
- Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners.
- Work with children to improve both academic and social skills.
- Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children.
- Support our center’s success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
- Monitor duties to ensure that student injuries are avoided and equipment is not damaged or used improperly.
Requirements
- Candidate with several years of experience teaching two‑year‑olds or a current CDA or higher degree in education.
- A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
- Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand‑in‑hand.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Must meet state specific guidelines for the role.
- Must be physically able to work indoors or outdoors.
- Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.

Job Type: Full‑time
Salary:
Starting at $18 and higher depending on experience and other qualifications such as CPR, First Aid certifications, CDA or teaching certificate.
