We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled MEP Project Manager to join our team. The MEP Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive direction, completion, and financial success of projects, while managing relationships with both owners and subcontractors. This role requires deep technical knowledge of building systems, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage MEP scopes across all project phases.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Demonstrate expert understanding of MEP Construction Drawings and Documentation.
- Interpret MEP construction plans, technical specifications, and submission requirements with the ability to identify potential coordination issues or scope gaps.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define MEP scope and determine optimal delivery methods, including phasing plans for occupied facilities.
- Provide oversight of prime contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements, particularly related to MEP trades, to ensure alignment with company interests and maintain positive client relationships.
- Manage the design process and coordinate closely between MEP design consultants and field installation teams.
- Lead a small to mid‑sized team, providing technical guidance and direction on MEP systems to ensure project success.
- Forecast costs for upcoming MEP activities, and manage RFIs, submittals, equipment lead times, schedules, budgets, and scopes through project management software.
- Develop bid packages for MEP scopes and procure proposals in adherence to client policies and procurement requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact with clients throughout the duration of the project, including regular progress reporting and coordination updates related to MEP systems.
- Identify potential project risks, particularly related to system outages or shutdowns, and develop mitigation strategies in coordination with facilities and subcontractors.
- Facilitate MEP-focused coordination meetings and track action items and resolutions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Create and maintain project schedules, including phased MEP implementation plans to accommodate existing building operations and minimize disruptions.
Skills and Abilities
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients and consultants to effectively coordinate MEP scopes and make timely decisions.
- Demonstrate exceptional organization, with the ability to manage multiple MEP‑intensive projects or phases concurrently.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a proactive and independent work ethic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam. Familiarity with MEP coordination software (Navisworks or Revit) is a plus.
- Ability to review and understand ARCH & MEP drawings and reports, with a focus on constructability, sequencing, and system integration within active facilities.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- 5‑7 years of relevant construction industry experience with direct responsibility for MEP systems.
- Preferably experienced in healthcare, institutional, or infrastructure projects with active building conditions and system upgrades.
