Overview

Provident Bank is seeking a Portfolio Manager II - CRE for the CRE portfolio management function. The role focuses on all aspects of portfolio management for assigned portfolio loans, assisting multiple lenders with monitoring and management, maintaining a small portfolio of their own, and supporting other department functions. Responsibilities include preparing short-term extensions, borrower contact, and comprehensive financial reviews of both individual and project economics and valuation, guarantor analysis, market analysis, and risk rating recommendations.

Loan analyses include CRE construction loans and CRE permanent mortgages. This position is considered more experienced in the job family.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor maturities and past due loans.
  • Monitor covenant compliance of the CRE portfolio.
  • Monitor receipt, review, and proper documentation of financials, loan approvals, and loan documents.
  • Prepare Annual Reviews to assess credit quality and covenant compliance.
  • Prepare short-term extensions of matured loans.
  • Prepare semi-annual construction reviews.
  • Ensure covenant compliance and perform property inspections.
  • Prepare detailed Excel Group Exposure Chart.
  • Request quotes and order appraisals and environmental reports.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Detailed property descriptions and market analysis.
  • Detailed analysis of financial statements.
  • Project economics, income and expense analysis, tenancy analysis, and property valuations.
  • Construction budget analysis with determination of sources and uses of funds.
  • Borrower and Guarantor analysis.
  • Assess lending risks, clearly identify offsetting mitigants, and summarize recommendations.
  • Prepare loan modification/covenant waiver memos.

Completes special projects as directed by the CRE Portfolio Manager Team Leader.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required.
  • Five to seven years’ work experience in all facets of commercial real estate within the financial industry, with a strong concentration in banking.
  • Strong comprehensive financial analysis skills and experience.
  • Comprehensive commercial real estate loan analysis experience.
  • Ability to manage a commercial real estate portfolio.
  • Ability to assist multiple lenders with portfolio management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel & Argus), financial analysis programs, and discounted cash flow models.
  • Strong customer service skills.
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily in a normal office environment with moderate noise. Travel to customers and property locations may be required.
  • Prolonged sitting
  • Lifting from 5 to 10 lbs (printer paper, storage boxes)
  • Occasional bending or overhead lifting (storing files or boxes)
  • Hazards are those present in a normal office setting.

Pay Details
  • Base salary: $92,300 - $131,800 annually. The base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, location, internal equity, and other needs.
  • Incentive eligibility based on company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
  • Benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision plans, health savings account, 401(k) retirement plan, disability insurance, employee assistance program, basic life insurance, tuition disbursement and loan repayment, and voluntary benefits (supplemental life, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and legal plans).
