Responsibilities- Prepare exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments.
- Assist patients for physician visits and examinations as directed.
- Take vital signs and record them in the medical chart.
- Understand proper function and care of special equipment.
- Perform EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab tests as required after performance evaluation.
- Maintain records by completing patient records, filing, and reporting.
- Assist with collections and billing procedures as needed.
- Use computer software to maintain office systems.
- Identify and respond to confidentiality issues.
- Adapt care to patient needs based on age, culture, language, hearing/visual impairment, etc., and communicate accordingly.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand a minimum of 1 hour per day.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent (CRMA, NCMA, RCMAS).
- AHA Basic CPR or HCP Certification.
Starting at $24.09 per hour. Pay is determined by market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Performance-based incentives and shift differentials may also apply.
